Question 1

Do I need an account to create a gift list?

Accepted Answer

No. Give your list a name and add your wishes: no email address is required. An optional account, using email, Google or Apple, simply lets you find your lists on another device.

Question 2

Do my friends and family need an account?

Accepted Answer

No. A shared link is all they need to view your list and reserve a gift, without installing anything.

Question 3

Do I need to install an app?

Accepted Answer

No. Listopia works in your browser, on a phone or a computer. There is no app to download from an app store. Create your list on your phone, then friends and family simply open the link.

Question 4

How does Listopia prevent duplicate gifts?

Accepted Answer

Each gift can only be reserved once. As soon as someone reserves it, everyone who opens or refreshes the list sees it as taken, so they can choose another gift.

Question 5

How is the surprise kept?

Accepted Answer

By default, you cannot see which gifts on your list are reserved or who reserved them. Only your friends and family can see that a gift is already taken.

Question 6

Which websites can I add gifts from?

Accepted Answer

Any website: Listopia is a list for gifts from different shops, including Amazon, Fnac, Cdiscount, Zalando or a small independent shop. Paste a product link to fill in its title, image and price when the website allows it. Otherwise, enter the details yourself.

Question 7

Can we contribute together towards an expensive gift?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For a more expensive gift, someone can start a gift fund and everyone can pledge an amount of their choice. Money is arranged directly between you: Listopia does not handle payments or charge any fees.

Question 8

Can I make a list for a civil partnership or a housewarming?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A Listopia list works for any occasion. Give it a name, such as ‘Our civil partnership’ or ‘Léa's housewarming’, add your wishes and share the link. Friends and family can reserve their gift without creating an account.

Question 9

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, 100% free: create a list, share it and reserve gifts at no cost, with no premium version or advertising. No fees or commissions are taken from your gifts. Some retailer links are affiliate links: the retailer may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you.
