A child draws stars on his letter to Santa Claus, with an adult, pencils and an envelope

A small workshop, a great Christmas moment

A sheet, a few pencils and a moment together are enough. Your child can write, dictate his words, draw his wishes or cut images: his letter resembles him.

  1. 1

    Select and print

Choose the template your child likes. In the print window, select A4 paper and one copy.

  2. 2

    Imagine and decorate

Let your child talk, write or draw. A few wishes are enough; they can also ask for an outing or time together.

  3. 3

    Sign and keep a souvenir

A first name, a drawing or a handprint: everything makes a nice signature. Photograph the letter before you slip it into an envelope.

Little words to start with

The letter can be about more than gifts: a happy memory, a question, a thank you. Here are some sentence starters to suggest without imposing them.

« Dear Santa, this year, I loved... »

« Do your reindeer like...? »

« For Christmas, what would make me happy is… »

« I'd also like to spend a moment with... »

« Have a wonderful round! »

A nice letter, even in black and white

The letters print on a single A4 page in portrait orientation. The simple version removes illustrations and coloured backgrounds to save ink and let your child decorate the page.

  • Choose ‘Illustrated, in colour’ or ‘Simple, black and white’ before printing.
  • Use A4 paper on the 100% scale; disable browser headers and footers.
  • For coloured decorations up to the edge of the paper, activate the "without border" mode if your printer proposes it.
  • Check the preview: only the selected sheet must appear.
  • If your browser offers it, choose ‘Save as PDF’ to keep your template.

There is no right answer or perfect letter. A child can change their mind, leave a line blank or just make a drawing. A list gives ideas; it does not promise that every wish will appear under the tree.

For parents and small preparations

While the children prepare their letters, the adults make a gift list for each family member, write down their wishes and prepare the presents.

A letter for Santa. A list for your loved ones.

Keep your child's letter as a souvenir. Between adults, copy his or her wishes to a Listopia list: the loved ones reserve the gifts without duplicates and the reservations remain hidden to the recipient by default.

Before you pull out the pencils

Yes. The list, the four letters and the additional templates are free of charge from this page, without registration or email address.
