Listopia

A group gift, made simple.

Choose the gift, share the list, each one indicates its share. No charge; the money settles between you.

Three friends prepare a large wrapped gift together

A gift, all the participations in the same place

On a Listopia list, someone selects ‘Pool’ under the chosen gift, sets the target and pledges their share. Others add their amounts through the same link. Listopia tracks contributions but handles no money: there are no fees or online payments.

A group gift is a present several people give together by sharing its cost. It makes a bigger gift possible than any one person might give alone.

The gift card shows the organizer, number of contributors, total pledged and amount still needed. These are pledges, not payments received.

In the app, the ‘Group gift’ option means a gift intended for several members of a shared list. To share the cost of a gift, use the ‘Pool’ button.

The amounts are pledges. Payments are arranged directly between friends and family.

  • One gift to give

Only one contribution pool can be started per gift. Once it starts, the individual reservation button disappears, so nobody can reserve the same gift separately. A gift already reserved cannot have a contribution pool.

  • Everyone stays in control

Each can change or withdraw his share, the organizer can modify or cancel the pool; the total cannot exceed the objective.

  • The surprise is preserved

The person who receives the gift does not see the pool unless, on a personal list, they choose to display the reservations.

Organize a group gift in 5 steps

Choose the gift, launch the pool, share the link, let each indicate their share, and then buy and settle the accounts. No one has an account to create.

Is there a gift missing from the list, or no list at all?

On a family list, select ‘Add a surprise gift’. The app hides it from the recipient by default. Then start a contribution pool for it. For a colleague or teacher without a list, create one for them and send the link to the group. Select ‘Leave management’ to start the pool as a guest.

  1. Choose the gift and an organizer

Start from the recipient's list. Choose one organizer to start the contribution pool, place the order and collect payments.

  2. Launch the pool

Select ‘Pool’ under the gift; on a personal list, show reservations first. Enter the total price, your contribution and, if needed, the product link, then confirm with ‘Start the pool’.

  3. Share the list's link

Send it to the group with the price, the date of purchase and the means of payment: templates of messages below.

  4. Each of them indicates its share

Select ‘Participate in the pool’ and enter a first name and amount. On a personal list, first select ‘View reservations’. The remaining amount updates for everyone.

  5. Buy, then settle accounts

Achieved: the organizer orders and each pays his share.

How much should each give?

The simplest method: the price of the gift divided by the number of participants, rounded to the euro higher. For €150 to 8 people, it is €19 each; the €2 overpayments pay the card or the package.

In the sample of Christmas lists 2025 study by Listopia, 9 % of gifts indicated price exceeds 100 €: they are the natural candidates for the common gift.

  • Flexible contributions: announce the target, let everyone give what they can, and show the amount still needed in the pool.
  • Indicative amount : for a class or service, "about 5 € per family, free to everyone" avoids discomfort.
  • Adjusted parts : a weekend of €380 between four children, it is €95 each; if one only puts €50, the other three pay €110.

How to raise money

Money does not go through Listopia: each participant pays his/her share to the organizer. The simplest means are usually free.

No payment is made through Listopia.
  • Transfer Since 9 January 2025, an instant transfer cannot cost more than a conventional transfer (European regulation, recalled by Service-Public.fr).
  • Wero : integrated with the applications of many French banks, it allows to send or ask for money with a mobile number, without communicating IBAN (Bank of France).
  • Cash: convenient among colleagues or family, provided you record who has paid.
  • Advance : the organizer buys, then gets reimbursed ; for a large amount, ask for the shares before.

group gift according to occasion

The principle stays the same. What changes is who starts the contribution pool and how the link is shared.

  • Christmas: a group gift for parents

In a collaborative family list, a gift marked "group gift (for several members)" targets both parents at a time; the children throw the pool on it; by default, the app does not show it to parents. Ideal ideas: a weekend for two, a dinner at the restaurant, a home appliance.

  • Birthday

For a child, the guests' parents gather on a larger toy since the link shared in the class group.

  • New baby: pushchair or car seat

Start the contribution pool on the item in the baby registry. The parents keep the exact model they chose, and nobody buys a second pushchair.

  • Wedding: The honeymoon

Split the honeymoon into items such as flights, nights and activities, each with a contribution pool. Guests choose which part to fund.

  • Mother's Day, Father's Day

Children can contribute together towards an original gift none would buy alone: a parachute jump, family photo album or cooking class. Create a list for the parent, share it with the siblings and let everyone pledge an amount.

  • Teacher, classroom assistant or nursery staff

Parent representatives create a list for the teacher and share the link in the parents' group.

  • Departure of a colleague

A list for the colleague, a link sent to the team (without him), free participations: everyone sees what remains to be gathered.

group gift or online pool?

An online fundraising platform collects card payments under its own terms and fees. A Listopia contribution pool tracks pledges towards one specific gift for free, while you arrange payment among yourselves.

An online pool is required if each person has to pay by card or if the amount goes to the person; Listopia, if the gift is on a list and should not be purchased twice.

Free for you: no fees or commission are deducted from your gifts. Some retailer links are affiliate links: the retailer may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you.
