The method
Christmas lists created between 1 October and 24 December 2025 on Wishfast, now Listopia.

Sample
287 lists named “Noël” (with or without the accent), “Christmas” or “Xmas”, including 170 with gifts, excluding test lists.

Price
1,933 usable prices across 3,224 gifts. Excluded: 1,233 without prices, 41 unreadable, 11 over €5,000, 4 at €0 and 2 price ranges.

Categories
Title keywords, then retailer website: 75% of gifts categorised, with 96 out of 100 correctly categorised in a manual check.

Anonymity
Only totals, never on less than 100 gifts or for a category or merchant present in less than 10 lists.

Limits
First Christmas season of the service: these lists do not represent the French.

Calculated on 20 October 2026. The September 2026 survey counted 3,229 gifts; the median and proportions are unchanged.
