Mélanie’s workshop

A factory born in her kitchen.

In 2013, Mélanie made shortbread biscuits with her daughters and shared her creations on her blog. The first orders arrived, and La Fabrique de Méline was born.

"I don't have any stock: every creation is made on demand, just for you."

Mélanie, La Fabrique de Méline

Since then, in Châlons-en-Champagne, she has designed personalised biscuits, lollipops and decorations for christenings, birthdays and corporate gifts. She draws her designs, makes her own biscuit cutters and decorates each creation by hand.

Some call her the biscuit fairy. A self-confessed food lover with a passion for colours and Christmas, she has kept her childlike imagination, visible in every creation.

Mom of two girls, she baptized her youngest when the eldest was 18 months old, and she knows what a family party is to be prepared with a baby in her arms.

Since 2013 The “biscuit fairy”

Good as well as beautiful: selected ingredients.

A food lover with high standards, Mélanie selects every shortbread ingredient for its flavour and origin.

  • Churned butter

For its nutty flavour, with no added preservatives.

  • Jura flour

Ground by a family-run flour mill founded in 1848.

  • Organic eggs

    Laid by free-range hens.

  • Vanilla sugar

A Bourbon vanilla pod from Madagascar infuses at least three weeks.

Her shortbread biscuits measure 7–8 cm depending on the shape and are individually wrapped. The lollipops keep for eight weeks in their bags, away from heat and moisture.

Cold porcelain

Biscuits to keep as mementos.

The medallions decorating her sweet containers and party favours are made of cold porcelain. They are not edible and can be kept for years.

Hand-shaped decorations also feature on some announcement cards. An optional magnet on the back turns the party favour into a displayable keepsake. Mélanie also makes edible announcements for those who prefer a treat.

Order calmly for D-Day.

Handmade takes a little bit of time, ahead: Mélanie advises you to order three weeks before the party.

  1. Step 1

    Customize

Specify the name, date, colours and other wishes when ordering. For an announcement card, she sends a proof within 48 working hours and revises it until you are happy.

  2. Step 2

    Let her create it

The manufacturing takes 10 to 15 working days. Biscuits and lollipops are prepared about ten days before the party, to arrive fresh.

  3. Step 3

    Receive

Tracked delivery with La Poste or Mondial Relay, or free collection in Châlons-en-Champagne by appointment.
